Enjoy Time with Your Family – Suggested Itinerary 

Barbados has its fair share of kid-friendly activities ranging from the Barbados Wildlife Reserve to an Island Safari. Make sure to try out these family friendly activities that keep both the adults and kids entertained.

Day One: Arrival in Barbados

Check into Bougainvillea Beach Resort, an oceanfront property on the south coast of the island. If you arrive early for check in, feel free to relax by the pool or ocean while you wait for your room to be ready. Enjoy dinner at one of the onsite restaurants, Lanterns by the Sea or Siam Bar & Restaurant, and enjoy your first evening in Barbados.

Day Two: Experience the Beauty of the Caribbean Sea

Go on a Catamaran Lunch Cruise to enjoy a day of relaxation and incredible experiences. Begin the ride by taking in the amazing views along the coast of the island. Snorkel over shallow shipwrecks and reefs to experience the colourful world underwater, all of the snorkelling and safety equipment is provided by the catamaran operator. Spend some time swimming with the beautiful sea turtles, this is always a fun moment for the family. The catamaran lunch cruise also anchors at a secluded beach area to serve a buffet style lunch. Following the cruise, return to your hotel and refresh yourself after spending the day in the sun. If the kids still have energy, hangout by the pool or spend some time in the game room which has air hockey, a pool table, ping pong, and gaming consoles. Tokens, DVDs, video games, controllers, and other game room accessories can be checked out at the front desk.

Day Three: Explore the Inner Island

Have some breakfast at Lanterns By the Sea then drive out to Harrison’s Cave. Upon arrival you can explore the scenic gulley complete with large trees, beautiful flowers, and wildlife. Take the Harrison’s Cave Tram Tour, this tour allows your family to experience the depth and beauty of Harrison’s Cave from the comfort of a motorized tram. The knowledgeable guides will be sure to point out all the spectacular sites inside the cave system, including the running streams and underground waterfalls. After visiting the cave, head out to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve located about 20 minutes north of Harrison’s Cave. Spend the afternoon strolling through the 4 acres of mahogany forest that serve as the natural habitat for many animals at the wildlife reserve. A majority of the animals roam freely throughout the property, including the green monkeys and the tortoises. Other animals include the mara, deer, parrots, peacocks, snakes, iguanas, and caimans, some of which are located in enclosed areas.

Day Four: Go on an Adventure

Take a ride on the Island Safari, spend the day riding in a 4 x 4 jeep during this off road adventure to some of the island’s most stunning spots.  This trip includes snacks, refreshments, lunch at a local restaurant, and unlimited enjoyment. Your knowledgeable tour guide will point out all the important sites along the way and make sure you enjoy the ride. This ride is fun for children above the age of 5, featuring an exciting off road experience and some fascinating stops. Some of the safari stops typically include the Lion at Gun Hill signal station, Bathsheba Park, and Little Bay.

Day Five: Experience Life Underwater

Go on a day dive in the Atlantis Submarine to experience the life below sea level. This dive provides amazing views of a shipwreck at a depth of 150 ft. in an area booming with fish and busy reef life. Take in the colourful coral and diversity of wildlife from the comfort of the air conditioned vessel. There is a height requirement of 3 ft. for children who are going on the submarine. After your submarine dive, spend the afternoon enjoying the beach at your hotel. Grab a chair and umbrella by the sea, if you need any help the watersports hut will be happy to help.

Day 6: Depart from Barbados

Pack your bags and head to the airport at least 2 and ½ hours before your flight. The airport is a short 20 minute drive from the hotel and it is recommended to arrive at least 2 hours before your flight. Check out time is 11am, if you have an evening flight feel free to enjoy the beach and pools one last time. There is a complimentary hospitality suite where you can wash up before you leave for the airport. Have a safe trip and remember to return to Barbados.
